Most advice about how to make extra money tells you to start a business, freelance, flip things, or grind evenings after work.
That’s not what this is.
This is how I make extra money without a side hustle — using things I’m already doing: spending, shopping, and using my phone.
This won’t make you rich. It won’t replace your job. But it can realistically add $50–$300 per month and reduce financial pressure.
If you’re overwhelmed, tired, or just want low-effort ways to make extra money online, this is for you.
1. Sharesies Card (NZ & Australia)
What It Is
Sharesies is an investing platform in NZ and Australia that offers a card connected to your investment account.
How I Use It to Make Extra Money
When you spend using the Sharesies card, you can earn rewards that go back into your investment account. Instead of cashback being spent again, it can be reinvested.
It’s not massive, but it compounds — especially if you follow structured principles like those in The 3 Steps to Financial Freedom in 3 Years.
Start Up Costs
Free to join. Investing requires depositing funds, but you can start small.
2. Crypto.com Card
What It Is
Crypto.com offers a debit card that gives cashback in crypto when you spend.
How I Use It to Make Extra Money
Everyday spending earns you crypto rewards. Over time, those rewards can grow if markets rise — or be converted into stable assets.
If you’re exploring alternative assets, you might also look into saving in digital gold.
Start Up Costs
Free to join. Some card tiers require staking crypto for higher rewards.
You can also pay a monthly membership fee to get the same cashback benefits – but this is only if you’re about to do some serious spending with that card.
3. GoMining Card
What It Is
GoMining allows exposure to Bitcoin mining rewards and offers a crypto-linked card.
How I Use It to Make Extra Money
Cashback rewards and mining-based earnings can stack over time. This is higher risk than traditional cashback but can supplement income.
Start small. Treat it as supplemental income — not guaranteed profit.
Start Up Costs
Free account creation. Mining exposure requires a small initial investment.
To get the card, you have to deposit $100 in BTC to your GoMining wallet, but you can spend it once it’s in there.
4. ShopBack (Cashback + Offers)
What It Is
ShopBack gives cashback at major retailers and also includes surveys and bonus tasks.
How I Use It to Make Extra Money
If you’re shopping online anyway, activate cashback before purchasing. You can also complete offers and surveys for additional earnings.
Plus, when you sign up with my link you’ll score a $10 bonus.

5. HeyCash (Surveys & Offers)
What It Is
HeyCash pays users for completing surveys and offers.
How I Use It to Make Extra Money
This is ideal for downtime: waiting rooms, commuting, evenings. It won’t make you rich, but it adds quick cash.

Why This Approach Works
These platforms don’t replace income. They supplement it.
You’re doing things to make extra money that reduce pressure and create small wins. Those small wins compound.
If I suddenly came into a large amount of money, I’d still follow the same system outlined in What I’d Do If I Won the Lottery.
Because wealth isn’t built from intensity — it’s built from systems.
That’s also the mindset behind Real Life Money Cheats, Tools We Recommend, and the full Wealth Builder Kit.
How I Maximise My Rewards
This part might be a bit of a mouthful, but it’s easy enough to follow.
Basically, I use my Sharesies card to pay for things like GoMining upgrades and card top ups, or Crypto.com top ups, and any purchases I make via Shopback.
Any offers on HeyCash that require any purchases to receive a reward I also use my Sharesies card for.
This way:
- I earn rewards for purchases with the Sharesies card
- I earn rewards for any money I use from the GoMining or Crypto.com cards
- I earn rewards with Sharesies AND through ShopBack
- AND I get rewarded for whatever I’ve done with HeyCash
This was how I accidently made $220 worth of rewards points after depositing a mere $25 in an online casino.
