As a seasoned online entrepreneur, digital marketer, finance worker, chaotic writer, social media “influencer”, and overall “maven”, I may or may not have earned the right to write on how to make money online.
I’m doing it anyway.

How Can I Make Money from Home?
Well, the simplest answer is to get a job, actually. Since 2020, working from home has become the new normal.
But if you’re asking that question, I know that’s not what you mean.
You want to know how to make money from your bed, right? Or from the couch?
Thankfully, this question is answered below in all the other ones. Keep reading.
How Do I Make Money Online with My Phone?
Any monetized activities you can access on a computer, you can also access on your phone. So “making money online with your phone” can be anything from:
These are more immediate rewards that won’t make you rich, and they’re not passive.
- running affiliate blogs or marketing websites
- posting content online for your followers
- posting videos
These are long-game earning methods that start off slow, but snowball. Once you have enough followers and enough of an audience, you’ll have paying customers.

How Can I Make Money on Youtube?
The process is very simple:
- Post videos, longform and shorts
- Get 1000 subscribers, and 4000 public watch hours within 365 days
- Apply for partnership, and start earning ad revenue on your videos
To break that down, 4000 hours is:
- 4,000 views on a 60 minute video
- 8,000 views on a 30 minute video
- 24,000 views on a 10 minute video
- 48,000 views on a 5 minute video
IF the viewers watch the whole thing.
Alternatively, you can get 10 million shorts views within 90 days. This is possible if you post 1–2 times daily and it’s in a niche that people actually want to watch.

While you’re growing, you can also still make money from affiliate links in the description on longform videos, IF they’re relevant to the content, and you don’t post too many links too soon.
Always include a polite call-to-action to check the link in the description in your videos (the earlier the better, as most people won’t watch more than a minute).

How Can I Make Money on Tik Tok? Instagram?
Three words: LINK IN BIO.
The link?
- an affiliate link to a service or product you recommend
- an Amazon influencer storefront (which you can apply for when you have a certain number of followers)
- a link hub page you can make with Beacons (link) that can include affiliate offers, digital products, or links to products you’re selling yourself
Instagram lets you do this immediately.
TikTok makes you wait until you have a certain number of followers.
So the call to action on Instagram is “check out the link in my bio” and with Tik Tok, before you have 1000 followers, it’s “follow me on instagram and check the link in my bio”.
Make a link page for free with beacons. That’s your hub. Get it.
How Do I Make Money on Pinterest?
This is a lovely way to earn online, but it does take some work.
The process is pretty simple, it’s just… a bit time consuming. And AI isn’t yet at a point where it can make the nicest images for pins.
But here it is:
- Pick an affiliate offer — a Gumroad digital product, an Amazon product link (apply for the amazon affiliate program here), or something you found on Clickbank, or Digistore24
- Go on Canva (the free version is fine) and make a pin to promote the offer. Ask ChatGPT for ideas if you’re stuck
- Make several pins a day and post them on Pinterest if you really want to grow traffic quickly without upsetting the algorithm
- ALWAYS make sure your pins have the relevant links on them
This works best on a computer, but you can follow the same steps on your phone. The only problem I’ve had with posting pins from my phone is that sometimes, the links disappear after I post them, so I have to add them again.
What are good investments for beginners?
To put it bluntly, Index Funds. These are stocks that just go into a pool that’s spread out across a bunch of different companies and industries.
Warren Buffet himself has said to do this if you don’t know what to invest in. Not surprisingly, he’s right.
I’ve done this for years. I go for the ones that pay dividends, and invest in companies that align with me ethically.

Money is important because it buys freedom, which indirectly buys happiness in a capitalist regime.
Why does Money have Time Value?
Alright, imagine this:
You have $10 today. You can either keep it now or someone says, “I’ll give you $10 a year from now instead.”
Which is better?
Having it today is better. Why? Because:
- You can use it right now. You could buy candy, toys, or anything else instead of waiting.
- You can grow it. If you put that $10 in a bank or invest it, it could turn into $11 or $12 by next year.
- Waiting is risky. What if the person doesn’t give it to you later? Or what if candy costs more in a year, and your $10 buys less?
So the time value of money means:
💡 “Money today is worth more than the same money in the future, because you can use it, grow it, or protect it from losing value.”
Basically: $10 now > $10 later.
