It’s so simple — people love to overcomplicate and gatekeep online earning. A lot of people seem to think they need to pay money to make money, but they don’t.
There’s a lot of value in reading a good book or guide that spoon-feeds you the information — and if you want to get there quicker, money always speeds up the process.
But this article isn’t for people who are ready to spend money.
This is for you if you’re passively doom-scrolling every day, and you still haven’t started earning online with your social media.
Start with an affiliate offer
Got an Instagram or a Tik Tok? YouTube? Threads?
Most platforms give you an option to put a link in your bio.
If there’s a service or product you use that you like, find out if it has an affiliate program or referral program.
Temu is a good place to start.
Log-in, get a referral link, and from time to time, include a call-to-action in your posts to politely suggest to your followers to check it out.
It’s that simple.
But what if they DON’T have an affiliate program?
I know, that’s annoying.
But there’s a simple fix — use Google or ChatGPT to find a program that is similar.
Here’s a good prompt:
“I want to promote as an affiliate, but they don’t have an affiliate program I can join. What are some alternatives to that I could promote instead?”
Better yet, you can start using that alternative service as well, in order to promote it more authentically.
Start blogging or posting about that offer
You can set up a niche blog related to the offer, and write articles with AI help, or simply start posting videos or tweets about the offer regularly.
Not spamming — I’m talking 2–3 times a day if you’re tweeting, or one video every other day if it’s on Instagram or Tik Tok.
YouTube is a bit sensitive to this kind of content, but Instagram and Tik Tok just get a bit stubborn about paid promotions.
It doesn’t matter though — consistent posting and engaging with people on social platforms is a sure-fire way to increase your audience size and gain a following.

Pro-tips:
- It’s best to promote products or services that you actually use. People can tell if you’re being legit or not — if you wouldn’t recommend it to friends or family, don’t recommend it to anyone else
- If you want to focus on your niche for this offer you’re promoting, it’s easy to make a new Tik Tok or Instagram dedicated to it, for FREE
- But if you do that, warm up the account for a week or so first. Interact with other users, make posts, and don’t try to start selling your offer just yet
- Use Google Trends or AnswerThePublic to find out what pain points are trending in your niche. You can also ask ChatGPT, but you’ll end up needing to verify this anyway.
